Mens E v Bovingdon - Friendly Match played at
Croxley TC 07/05/09 - L 1-8
The idea of playing some 'E' team friendlies with other clubs was to try
and give the D team some consistency this season, so that maybe we
wouldn't finish botttom of the bottom divison again. The E team would
then provide the opportunity for others to get some games. The
idea was also that the other clubs would also play fringe players not
regularly playing Watford League matches. This inaugural match was
always going to be tough once our opposition revealed that most of their
fringe players were unavailable and therefore bar Coach Roy, we were for
all intents and purposes playing their B team, the one that beat our D
team the other week. There were some good competitive sets along
the way, and maybe a few less so, but I think all in all it was a good
evening's tennis, Congratulations to Matt Gentry and Mike Salva on
making their club debuts, and to Chris Crick and Dave Smith for notching
our only set win on the night.
