Remedial Works to Courts - September / October 2009

As I write it’s been 5 weeks since the contractors started the remedial works to the new courts, mini courts and walls.  There’s some good news and some not so good news to report with regards to this.

The good news is that our development supremo Colin Hewett met with the contractor and our technical consultant this week, and the new tarmac has been ‘approved’ – hooray.  However, with the onset of shorter days and worsening weather for drying, it won’t be possible for the courts to be repainted until March.  We will therefore be playing with temporary lines on rather old-fashioned black and white courts over the winter.   All Courts are now back in use, although there is still some tidying up to do this coming week, so again members will need to take care with fencing/gates etc.

As ever, this has been a very frustrating time for all of us, and we would like to thank all of you for your tolerance and understanding during this time.
